I’ve struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember.
When I think of summers as a child I think of ramen noodles and koolaid. When I think about high school I think of fast food and school lunch. When I think of college I think of ice cream, high sodium pre-packaged foods, and pizza.
I remember telling myself that I was too busy and too poor while I was in college to eat healthy. I was decently active with bike rides to parties (let the booze commence) and random night runs to relax my busy brain (why not?). Even with all the exercise in the world I couldn’t burn off my late night pizza runs and bottom self boozy cocktails from thirsty Thursdays.
It wasn’t until after college I had fully realized what I had done to my body. I was 220 pounds, and I was miserable.
After college I began a slew of diet trials and on again off again attempts. Calorie Counting, Weight Wavers (or something like that lol), 70’s book diets, didn’t work for me.
Heck, still to this day I struggle with 100% healthy eating and consistent fitness, as there isn’t a finish line to a healthy lifestyle but….
What has helped me lose 60+ pounds, truly educate myself about how to become and stay healthy, is the low carb lifestyle.
I find “success” in making the best food choices, trying my best in the gym, and getting back up time and time again if I slip up or fall down.
I created this blog as a community for us ladies who low carb. A place to share our favorite recipes and healthy tips we’ve learned along the way.
I’m not a dietitian, a doctor, or a personal trainer. I’ve been low carb lifestylin’ since 2012 and I have lots of experience to share!
I hope you will find some of my recipes, tips, and stories helpful to your healthy lifestyle motivation.
